This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This school is a middle city school with many different economic and cultural backgrounds.

My students are asked to provide supplies which might be financially hard for them to get. Our school is a Title I school, and every donation goes a long way. Our students are driven to always do their best, but they struggle. They need financial and emotional support from their community to help them meet their true potential.

My Project

My students often spend long hours at school. They will sometimes start the day at 6:45 being dropped off before their parents go to work, and then stay until 6:00 at night when their parents can come pick them up. Even though there are programs who help these students, there is never enough. I find that when I require them to come to do extra math after or before school, it is always better when it ends with a healthy snack to take home.

I am asking for 8 boxes of healthy snacks to help my students make it until their next meal.

They are dedicated to improving their lives as math academics, but sometimes its just 'too much' to ask for them to stay energized after a long day. Please help them stay wake and happy by filling their tummies so I can help fill their minds.
