My Students
My students are diverse learners in different stages of development. They are amazing, inquisitive leaders who show love and kindness to each other. Although some may have difficult lives, my students come to school with smiles on their faces. They are our future and they are truly amazing people.
There are some things we can control and others we simply cannot.
Our ability to distinguish between them is critical to our happiness and well-being. Sometimes unexpected stuff will happen to us or around us. Our true power lies in our response. - Author: Clifton Anderson
Coronavirus happened to my students' world unexpectedly. Their school was shut down after spring break with 9 more weeks of school left. As a teacher, I have been teaching my students through Distance Learning activities using Zoom meetings. Teaching online is a lot different than teaching in a classroom. The resources I have been using to teach have been a packet and reading books to my students. I have been reading books and doing a lot of directed drawings.
My Project
If I, the teacher, am worried about returning to school just think how my students and their parents feel. The face shields are needed to provide my students with an extra layer of protection. These will make my students feel more at ease and feel safe at school. While my students are busy learning in school, they will have an extra layer of protection against COVID-19. The usage of the mask will allow my students to be seen and heard in class while instruction is given from a safe distance from each other and me.
How will my students keep up with their face mask?
The Staples lanyards will be used to attach to the mask that our school is suppling. Each of my students will wrap a lanyard around their neck and attach it to an ear loop. Then when they need to eat or drink they can remove their mask and it will hang like a necklace with their mask attached.
When we close for distance learning I will send the face shields and lanyards home so that my students will be safe at home and their environment. Then, my students can continue learning while staying healthy at home.
