Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am honored to teach a class of 24 amazing first-grade students in a diverse, Title I community located in the inner-city. It is in one of the country's largest cities where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. They represent many beautiful ethnicities and come to school with a love for learning, ready to show others what they've learned.
During this pandemic, I am eager to provide them with meaningful instruction and needed resources to support their learning.
Despite our many challenges, my little learners truly enjoy our time together. They have remained 100% resilient.
My Project
Using fidget tools is a great way for my little learners to relieve stress and express their emotions in a positive, healthy way. All of my students live in apartment buildings, most without back patios, and many with multiple families living in a small space. I'm eager to offer my little learners some fun experiences to help with their health and wellness as we continue to learn through this pandemic.
More than ever, kids need to release any built up anxiety in order to maintain good social and emotional mental health.
