Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a NY city public school teacher with 20 highly motivated Kindergarten students. Our school has a high percentage of special needs students in it.
Prior to this school year my classroom was office space. Therefore, I have little or no manipulatives for my children to use at center time. Some of the other teachers "shared" some of their unwanted materials but none of them complete sets nor highly motivating materials that my class was interested in using.
I would love to have a few complete sets of manipulatives for my students to use at center time. Manipulatives such as beads, lacing cards, and bristle blocks all increase fine motor skills in little hands. The children can use their imaginations as they snap together pieces or lace up teddy bears; as they build, they can increase their planning skills as well as their motor skills without frustration in a kid friendly way.
You can make it possible for my students to have bright, colorful manipulatives that will help increase their motor skills in a fun and imaginative way! Your help will ensure that my students can learn and play as they use their imaginations to keep their little hands busy!
More than half of students from low‑income households
