This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In transitional kindergarten, my students learn through play, and our curriculum is play-based, which means we play and create!
I am requesting a scanner so I can scan my students' personalized classwork, so I can keep a digital copy to give to families.
At the end of the year, I want to create a special personalized memory book for each of my students to take home. I plan to use the digital copies scanned from the requested scanner as special memories of what they created in class. I want my students to know that each special moment, no matter how big or small it is important and special. In addition, I want all my students to know that everyone is different and it is okay to create unique artwork. When I notice my students are in need of a break, I plan to take them outside to play soccer or explore outdoor activities to help them release their energy so they can come back to class for more learning. In my class, I have a few special needs students who have ADHD, and letting them have the option to take a break will allow them the chance to engage more deeply in their learning when we return to class. This scanner will make it easier for me to document all of my students' classwork, outdoor learning time and artwork preserved their memories in TK for years to come!
