My Project
Our district adopted a new language arts resource this year. It was much needed and we are really enjoying it. As a teacher there is a learning curve when teaching something new and I'm recognizing there are some things that the students need to help make their learning more individualized and help them be more independent.
These items will help to keep learning fun in the classroom!
The laminator and laminating sheets will allow me to make some of their learning materials reusable and more durable. We work on building words everyday. The magnetic boards, letters, and playdough will help make building words more hands on and engaging. I like to set a timer during our small group and independent work time. This visual timer lets the students see how much time they have to complete an activity.
My students love playing educational "bump" games. I can pick the skill that the student needs to work on and they can grab a partner and play one of their favorite games and learn in the process. They need a set of dice for these games. I like to have 10 sets ready to go so the students can be independent in grabbing what they need.
