My Students

My students come into school every day eager to learn, full of energy and light, and can't wait to see what we are going to learn that day! The thing that I love most about my students is we are a classroom family. We are in this together. We work hard, learn a lot, help each other even when things are tough.

Like every classroom, my students have various needs.

I have students who are excelling above grade level and need to be challenged. I have students who are well-below grade level who qualify for resource interventions. Several students in my class this year are ELLs, or English Language Learners. These students need more exposure to vocabulary to make connections and to develop their background knowledge.

Helping each student on their individual level is a challenge, but I know I can make a difference to help each student meet their potential. I strive to make my classroom a positive and consistent environment to foster learning and development for every student.

My Project

One of our school goals this year is to be a culturally responsive school. We are celebrating the things that make us unique and special and how we can work together to do amazing things! I am asking for some multicultural crayons so every student can feel represented and valued.

Scholastic News gets second graders excited to read and learn with short, on-level nonfiction and remarkable real-world photos.

With each issue, student will learn about a new seasonal science or social studies theme that's relevant to our curriculum. They'll also build the nonfiction-reading skills they need most. Subscriptions include online resources, like digital issues and learning videos that students can use anytime.

I am also asking for some supplies like a new pencil sharpener, markers, and dry erase pockets. These supplies keep our classroom running smooth and we are needing some new ones.

The items on this project are beneficial to my students and classroom. They will be well used! They will help engage my students!
