This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Thank you for reading about my project! I am lucky enough to teach 24 amazing Kindergarteners who love to learn through hands-on experiences. I invest a lot of my own money into my classroom to make sure my students have what they need, so your help would mean the world to me and my students!

Most of my students come from low-income families who rely on the school to provide learning materials to help them be successful students.

With your help, I can provide each of my kindergarten students this year and next year with the basic supplies all students deserve such as new books, name tags, hands-on reading and math learning games and activities, as well as medals, certificates and prizes to celebrate their kindergarten graduation! Additionally, our custodians work so hard to keep our school looking nice, however, the older classroom chairs often scratch up the floor. The tennis ball chair-leg protectors will help protect the classroom floors from being scratched up and will preserve the hard work of our custodians. I will use the learning resources to create fun hands-on math and ELA centers for the classroom, and the laminating sheets to laminate interactive learning games for the students to use over the summer to keep their learning going through the summer months.

I want all of my students to feel like school is a safe, and fun environment where they can explore and learn and with the help of these resources, together we can truly provide my students a great kindergarten experience that carries over into the summer months as well!
