Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students need an extra push to remain active academically in the classroom. Many times I have to use incentives to maintain their interest.
When students excel academically, they deserve to be rewarded.
When my students complete their classwork and go above and beyond I reward them with a ticket that if they can accumulate 3 of them they can trade them in for drinks and goodies during lunch time. The ice coolers that we are requesting will be used to hold drinks and keep them cold so that when students come and trade in their tickets for drinks they won't get warm drinks.
I teach in a continuation high school and many of my students work on independent courses, while I provide support to them while they work many of them need more of an incentive to get their courses completed. When my students have completed a course they will receive a $25 gift card, when they complete a second course they will receive a $5 Starbucks card. This process will be repeated every quarter.
