This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a high-needs, low-income, Title 1 public school in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. Our students excel because our school fosters academic excellence, and all of the teachers are committed to their students' success. The administrators, teachers, and parents collaboratively work toward developing each student into a future productive and successful citizens. Our school is a Science, Technology, Math Magnet and is committed to STEM education as well as character development.
I hope to instill in them a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
My students enthusiastically come to school inquisitive and excited to learn. You can help facilitate that! Your donation will give my students the tools they need to learn these valuable lessons that will stick with them as they grow.
Every child in my classroom comes to school with unique life challenges, educational, and social needs. As their teacher, it is my goal to differentiate the instruction to inspire each and every student to achieve at the highest level possible. I thrive on seeing those "Ah ha" moments and watching their eyes light up with understanding.
My Project
Scholastic News and Science Spin Magazines are a great way for students to explore informational text in a fresh and different way while also giving them digital access. By the time curricular materials are published, many times the information is already not the latest information. These magazines will give my students the opportunity to learn about current and relevant issues while also learning how to read informational text.
Using Scholastic News and Science Spin Magazines will allow my students to access real and current information in either digital or print format.
These magazines will enhance and aid in the various topics being covered in the classroom. Each month, Scholastic News Magazines cover topics about holidays or events happening that month. Science Spin gives amazing visuals and more in-depth information about the topics we are covering in our class. These magazines will make learning more fun and engaging each time we use them.
