Dear Donors,
I am writing to seek your assistance in acquiring a new air conditioning unit for my classroom.
Our old AC unit has served us for several years, but it is no longer functioning and is beyond repair. With the summer months approaching, I am concerned about the classroom environment for my 4th-grade students and the children attending summer camps.
The heat will make it incredibly difficult for my students to focus, stay engaged, and sustain their energy for learning. Unfortunately, our school does not have the budget to replace the air conditioner, and without one, our classroom will quickly become uncomfortable, if not unbearable. With a group of active 4th graders, the classroom can become like a sauna when temperatures rise, leading to distractions, frustration, and a lack of focus that inhibits learning.
As summer approaches, this issue will only worsen, especially for those attending summer camp. Having an air conditioner would be a huge benefit, allowing everyone to stay cool and focused on lessons. It would help me maintain the high-quality instruction I strive to deliver and ensure that both my students and the summer camp kids have a productive, safe, and comfortable learning environment.
Without a means of cooling, it is extremely difficult to engage my students for extended periods. They quickly become tired, irritable, distracted, and overwhelmed, which prevents meaningful learning.
I understand that an air conditioner can be expensive, and I realize this is a big favor to ask. However, a comfortable classroom is vital to my students’ education, and your donation would greatly support their academic, physical, and emotional well-being.
