Keeping Centers Hot

My students need different center activities, like the Hot Dots, that they can do independently that will help them grow as readers. I am also requesting an easel.

My Students

More than two thirds of my students come from low-income families, and my students are very special. They love to explore and learn. I love to see their eyes light up when they learn something new, or when they finally accomplish something they had been working hard on.

I love the aha "lightbulb" moments.

I love to give my students all of the hands-on and independent work I can to help them. They love to work together and help one another.

My students are my "kids" and I want to help them in any way I can by making learning fun, and rewarding.

My Project

The materials will help my students in many ways! We use chart paper all the time and the easel will help my students and I easily create charts and pictures on chart paper. Students will easily be able to help create charts and drawings together. The easel will also be used in centers for students to practice sight words.

Many students come to Kindergarten not knowing letters and/or sounds.

The materials I chose will allow students to work independently to learn their letters, sounds, and sight words. It is very important for students to learn their letter sounds and beginning sight words in order to learn to read and write.

The remaining materials, such as the Hot Dots (animals, plants and ecosystems, and math flash cards addition) will allow students to be engaged and learn about science, as well as help them become fluent in their math facts. Students will be able to work independently and learn in a different way. I am so excited to help my students learn and grow!
