Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My approach in achieving this is a multicultural and an interdisciplinary one, as I want my students to see the aesthetic beauty in all that is around them, and not view art as a separate part of their daily lives. I am a second grade teacher in a low income community that would benefit from more exposure to the arts.

My students face many challenges in their lives everyday, the lack of art materials has an impact on their ability to produce fine pieces of work.

We need basic crayola products that will be used to enhance the students artistic abilities. I will integrate the arts with other academic areas by planning lessons that engage students and nurture their artistic abilities.

It is my hope that my students will develop an appreciation for the arts and the cultures around them. You can help a growing child gain exposure to various mediums. You can make a difference in a child's life.
