This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students arrive each day with smiles on their faces, ready to do their best in class. I teach in a K-5 elementary school in an urban school district with over eight hundred students and a diverse population. All of the students at my school receive free lunch.

Our school district has been experiencing financial difficulties for many years.

However, we have great students, dedicated teachers, and administrators who work together to make our school a happy and safe environment for everyone.

My Project

In my kindergarten classroom, my students use a lot of hands-on materials to help them learn. They use play-doh, glue sticks, markers, stamps and ink, kinetic sand, and other materials. These materials tend to leave residue on the tables, which can make for a tricker surface to work on during the day.

The flexible Messy Mats will allow my students to use different materials while keeping their tables clean.

The clipboards will be used during literacy and math stations. The students will be able to work in different places in the room and complete stations that require them to write as they move around the classroom. Thank you for your help.
