This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, our scholars have had various school experiences over the last three years: fully in-person learning, hybrid learning, virtual learning, or some combination of all three. They have met challenges with resilience, flexibility, and grace, and though my group of third graders have never experienced a 'non-COVID' school year, they are so excited to move up to upper elementary in what they lovingly call the “big kids' hall.”
Our classroom is beautifully diverse, and our classroom environment and lessons are designed to celebrate the uniqueness of every scholar in our class.
One of the things necessary to make that happen is to ensure we have a clean and healthy classroom. The Kleenex tissues will be used as part of our 'Kleen' classroom to keep us all safe and healthy. The tissues will be placed in several stations around the room so that students can always access them. In addition, we will use existing supplies to make sure each of these stations are stocked with hand sanitizer. The tissues will ensure an environment where every scholar is able to keep healthy and well.
