Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hardworking individuals, and they constantly want to please. They deserve to have the opportunity to receive all the help that is available to them. They come from a rough neighborhood surrounded by high poverty and crime. Despite their hardships, they rarely miss a day of school.
My students come from low-income households, and they don't have much at home to offer to the school when it comes to supplies.
Many times, they come to school hungry and dirty. We provide free breakfast and lunch to all children. What they do have to provide are big hearts and brains ready to be filled with new and exciting information.
My Project
There is nothing better than starting your day coming to school being nice and warm!
My students need warm gloves to keep their little fingers nice and warm during this very cold season.
They come to school freezing and can not write because they are so cold at times. My students also need various art supplies such as crayons, colored pencils, and markers for our wonderful creativity in the classroom. We always draw pictures to go with stories and things we learn from our units. I feel it is important for children to be exposed to not only basic crayons, but markers as well and learn about using colors in a creative way. We also need copy paper for homework and activities we do all year and also a fan for those very hot, uncomfortable days since we do not have air conditioner in our classroom. Tote bags are used for carrying incentives home. We need place value discs for our Zearn math program as we are learning 3 digit numbers now. Any support you can provide us to make our project come to life would be so much appreciated by our wonderful scholars.
