My Students

I am so proud of the school I work at. My students always try their best and make us proud. Students are faced with many challenges inside and outside the classroom and have diverse needs.

Despite the challenges they face daily, my students are filled with energy, are happy, and are motivated to learn.

They are scientists, singers, mathematicians, leaders, comedians, readers, writers, teachers, dancers, me, and you; they are everything!

My Project

This is my 20th year as an NYC school teacher! Wow, I still can't believe that. I am embarking on a new journey as an ELA teacher for 5th grade, general and special education. I'm a little nervous, but mostly excited. One major goal I have is to keep organized; my students and myself. This is my first time departmentalizing, meaning teaching only reading multiple periods a day. I am requesting classroom basics such as baggies for the book, a utility cart, a rod, and clips to hold chart paper and border.

Having materials for students will keep them organized throughout the day.

Students will use the baggies to keep all reading materials. Students will keep their notebooks, text, pencils, and highlighters. The curtain rod and clips will be used to display students' work and posters created by students. A rolling utility cart will allow supplies to be available for all.

When students have all of the needed supplies and are organized they will succeed.
