My Students
How much faster and smoother can you accomplish things when you are effectively organized? How difficult is it to get anything done when you have different materials that you need all over the place?
The students in my district are far more likely than their peers to be behind in their grade level than their neighbors in the county next door.
With every year that they continue on in school, they become further and further behind. My students are eager to learn and enjoy discovery of new concepts. However, they are still children and they have a difficult time organizing their materials on their own. My students come from an under-resourced area, and often are unable to afford quality items to keep them organized. Gathering materials for learning before instruction begins and then finding materials necessary during instruction is stressful, and takes a great deal of time, thus disrupting precious time for the instruction that will keep my students competitive with their peers in the county next door.
My Project
In order to prevent a loss of instructional time, a classroom needs to run smoothly and efficiently. However, this is difficult to do in a community where resources are limited. A media organizer will prevent me from having to run around the classroom to set up materials in transition periods. Having designated colored folders for specific subjects and organized reading binders will greatly decrease searching time and maximize instructional time for my students.
Your donation will help maximize instructional time in my classroom, and help to make it run like a well-oiled machine.
It will allow for more instructional time that is necessary in keeping my students competitive with their peers in better resourced school districts. You will help ensure that my students do not fall behind because of their zip code.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
