My Project

One of the major components of our Life Skills Support program is teaching our students basic cooking and baking techniques. It is extremely important for each student to learn cooking safety as well as how to prepare basic food items.

The goal of our high school program is to help our students live as independently as possible upon graduation from high school.

This includes being able to make basic food items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Unfortunately, at this time, we are only allotted a small budget to purchase food to cook with our students. I have been supplementing supplies from home and purchasing items out of pocket but this has become costly. The items in this project are all shelf-stable food items that will be used alone or with other items purchased. Each of these items are things that are simple to make but will help my students practice basic cooking skills. We plan on making spaghetti, chicken Alfredo, baked ziti, mashed potatoes, buffalo chicken dip, etc. The options are endless and these items will help offset the cost of purchasing food each week.

Mrs. Quinn will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 11.
