My Project

My students are 7-9 years old and come from a low income/ poverty stricken area. If you were to look at my students, you would never know what they go through daily. All of my students qualify for free school lunches. School district funds are very limited to the bare necessities and it is up to me to come up with the rest of the materials that I need for my classroom.

My students are in need of headphones to be successful learners during center work and independent time.

Small group instruction and centers have been a big part of our school day this year. When students are working on the computers in a center they are using various district related programs such as i-Ready, Lexia, Reflex to name a few. These programs are great become they focus on specific skills for students on an individual basis. However, student's volume needs to be on for them to hear and practice various skills.

The echoing in our classroom from the multiple devices running interrupt small group instruction a lot. Headphones would allow students to control their noise and keep the classroom quiet during small group instruction. It will also allow students to stay engaged and focused when they are on their Chromebook.
