My Project

Our band program is full of passionate, determined students, but we’re facing a serious challenge: broken instruments and a lack of essential supplies. We are a self-funded program with no dedicated budget for repairs or accessories like reeds, valve oil, cleaning kits, or drumsticks. Your support can help us keep our instruments in playing condition and our students making music.

Our students come from low-income families, and over 90% qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Many cannot afford to rent or buy their own instruments, let alone cover the cost of repairs or supplies. Despite these challenges, they show up to band with heart, dedication, and excitement. Music gives them a safe space to express themselves, build confidence, and feel part of something meaningful.

We’re requesting band accessories and basic repair tools to help maintain our instruments and keep our program running. Right now, broken reeds, stuck valves, and worn-out sticks often force students to sit out — not because they lack talent, but because we lack resources.

Having a working instrument isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. These tools and supplies will ensure that every student, regardless of background, can fully participate, grow their skills, and take pride in their progress.

Band gives young people a creative outlet, builds confidence, teaches discipline, and fosters teamwork. Playing an instrument helps students express themselves, improves focus, and provides a sense of belonging—often becoming a life-changing experience both in and out of school.
