My Students

I teach Academic Intervention Services to students in grades K-5. I encourage my students to know that they are readers.

Our rural elementary school in upstate New York has a student population of 350 students. Our students are at risk of failing the New York State assessments and students who are having difficulty academically are recommended to receive Academic Intervention Services. That's where my room comes into play.

My students are hardworking and imaginative young learners. They strive every day to improve all areas of their literacy deficiencies. My students are all very eager to learn and love coming to school. They are independent, hardworking, and compassionate.

My Project

Students are coming back to school this year and we need to keep it clean! This year, working with students from the ages 5-10 will be challenging. As the pattern continues, it is a bad year for viruses in our classroom. So many students have been sick and, as a result, they have missed many days of school. The requested resources, including face masks (in a variety of sizes) hand sanitizer, Lysol wipes, and spray, have helped to keep the germs away. We want our students to stay happy, healthy, and in school! These items will help try to keep that goal for the 2021-2022 school year!
