This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I have a wide range of readers who need books at their level. Biographies are interesting for even the most reluctant readers.

My 4th graders love to read and have read through my entire classroom library and it is only November.

My students come from a wide range of social economic backgrounds. We have a wonderful Parent Club who is already stretched on their resources. Our school is a fabulous close knit community.

My Project

I am requesting 3 sets of biography books from the Who Was biography series. These books are perfect for 4th graders. This series allows them to get interested in people, read non-fiction genre, and stretch their vocabulary. These books are only about 100 pages long and are high interest books which allows for even my struggling readers to feel a sense of accomplishment

Students need to read a lot to get better at reading.

Won't you help my students get these books they so desparately need? Thank you for considering my project. I hope that by reading these biographies, my students will be motivated to achieve high successes in their own lives and possibly have a biography book written about them someday
