Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My first grade students are enthusiastic and eager to learn. They spend their day engaged in hands-on learning experiences. My students are given opportunities to develop their social skills as well as their academic skills.
As a classroom, they work together to learn and work; however, this year it will be different.
This year, they will need all the resources from the classroom at home in order to learn. My students are a diverse group of learners who work hard, help one another, make mistakes, and encourage everyone to try their best. Now more than ever it is important to stay active and play.
At school we learn through play, music, partnerships, groups, literature, dance, and hands-on experiences. We have fun while learning!
My Project
School will be different this year. We will be learning from home. Our school will provide pencils, crayons, and a notebook We will be learning via an online learning platform and live lessons on a digital device. It will be different, but we will try our best to learn and have fun too! It would be great if my students have outdoor play equipment while learning from home.
My students need to keep their bodies and minds active in order for them to continue to learn while at home.
With the playground balls, they will be able to practice throwing, catching dribbling, and bouncing, which are gross motor skills they must develop in order to learn to read. With the jump ropes, they will be able to practice their hand-eye coordination and jumping that will allow them to stay active and have fun.
