My Project
When working with students with autism, items such as disinfecting wipes, magic erasers, broom & dust pan set, and a Swifter Mop can be needed on a daily basis. Some of my students have difficulty with handwashing routines, blowing their noses, and covering their mouth appropriately during times when illnesses spread. With the winter season approaching, I want my students and classroom staff to be able to have these supplies at hand to prevent germs from spreading. Also having proper PPE can help my classroom staff and learners keep germs from spreading.
In my classroom, I have my learners be a part of our clean up routines, whether it's wiping down commonly used areas, work station areas, tables and their desks.
Therefore, this is a good learning opportunity for students to learn these crucial ADL skills in order for them to be more independent at school!
