My Project

More than anything, my students love hands-on activities. From labs to using whiteboards to observing science demonstrations, they're never more engaged than when they are seeing science happen before their eyes and doing science with their hands.

Active science classes are messy, and cleaning up can be pricey.

In order to do more of the messy activities that my students love, I could use some cleaning supplies. Goggles need to be cleaned. Tables need to be wiped down. Dry erase boards need to be cared for. And we all need to take steps to protect ourselves from germs so that everyone can show up to class daily to learn.

Furthermore, my goal this year is to delegate these tasks, as much as possible, to the students themselves. By taking active roles in the upkeep of the classroom, I hope to instill more ownership of our learning space in my students, and thus instill in them a deeper sense of pride for the work we do together.
