My Students

We are a brand new middle school and have students from various cultures and backgrounds. Our school is in the first year with students coming from surrounding schools. We are in grades 7 through 9 middle schools and are building our school culture this year. Be Kind is a reoccurring theme throughout our halls, and students are learning what it means to live this attribute.

Students look forward to exploring new things to feel empowered with the skills necessary to excel in life.

I'm very grateful to work with students after school and appreciate their willingness to strive for healthier fitness levels through daily physical activities.

My Project

With the spike of Covid-19 cases in our district, we were forced to shut down. Being a P.E. teacher, this worries me because everything we do in class requires movement, the performance of skills, and fitness. I want to have equipment that I can loan out to students so that they may continue to move and exercise at home when we are faced with school closures. I plan to use the workout dice as a fun way to warm up and stretch prior to our online activity. I want students to join in on my Zoom meetings and have equipment at home that they can use to join in on the exercises.

I want students to have the equipment they need to move, exercise, and practice their skills at home when we have to shut schools down due to the pandemic.

Please help me get the Sportime Recess Pack for my students to use at home so that they continue to exercise and stay healthy during this pandemic. In the pack, they can use the jump ropes, soccer balls, and even the basketballs to use outside or in their yard to stay active. I also would like to loan out the bodyweight exercise cards for students to follow along with me during Zoom meetings. The workout posters are a great resource for me to reference for students that need a visual example, in addition to me demonstrating the exercise.

A lot of students have expressed their frustration during the time we had to close schools in 2020 and the lack of exercise has really shown at the beginning of this school year.

I want students to have the equipment they need to keep moving on even if it's in a Zoom meeting.
