My Students
My school is located in Florida. I have a diverse classroom. My students' ages range from 5-7 years. My students love coming to school and participating in engaging and diverse of activities.
My students are on the autism spectrum and love to have a structured environment on a daily basis.
They use individual visual schedules in daily functioning. We engage in both large group and small group activities as part of our daily routine. They love to read, sing, dance, play, and do any activities that children their age generally enjoy. They also enjoyed the use of manipulatives, iPads, and games as a part of small group rotations. They look forward to these activities on a daily basis.
Our students are engaged are now engaged in 100% face-to-face learning which is the best mode of instruction for them. I am proud of how my students were able to adjust to the changes that were have encouraged. We look forward to ending this school year well.
My Project
My classroom is designed with many centers that cater to the academic and independence of students. This project is aimed at motivating students to stay engaged in center activities. The sight word games for example will be used in the word center for students to practice reading and writing high-frequency words. This will help students in making progress in reading.
My students need strong positive reinforcers presented frequently and enthusiastically to help them achieve their social and academic goals.
The fruit snack, goldfish, fidget spinners, miniature toy animals, and puzzles are examples of items that serve as reinforcers. No two students are alike. As such the reinforcers are individualized for effectiveness. We would be extremely grateful for the donations to assist in keeping students engaged and motivated. Thank you.
