My Students
Students in my class all live within walking distance of school but despite their geographical similarities, they represent a myriad of backgrounds in terms of race, ethnicity, language and socioeconomics. At school, we focus on collaboration and find ways to work together to build a strong classroom and a stronger school community by capitalizing on the strengths that come from our diversity. We work hard every day to make our great school even better and more inclusive of our diversity.
My Project
We have been fortunate enough to test run some Hokki stools in our classroom and the kids love them. They report that they are more engaged, less tired and more comfortable in class. They have helped general education students students with special needs regulate their bodies and attention while completing their work
With just a few more Hokki stools, we will have enough active seating options for each student in class.
By giving each student developmentally appropriate (and fun!) seating, we can help increase the level of engagement and connection in the classroom, and have some fun along the way.
