My Students

My students are from a small rural community. We have four towns that feed into our district. Our school is made up of kindergarten through 3rd grade. We have 5 sections of each. My students are very eager to learn and love having the opportunity to explore new things.

The students in my classroom are very active and inquisitive.

They love to learn new things, build things, and make slime. They surprise me every day with the new things they say and do. I am honored to be able to spend time with these students every day and watch them learn and grow.

My Project

We learn by communicating, touching, and being hands on. These games will help keep our classroom fun and active! Students will be able to practice classroom skills by using these games during center time. Lakeshore has some awesome games that can be differentiated based on student need. For example, I will be able to have one group work on short vowels and have another group play the game with long vowels. I love that students can play similar games while working on the skills they need.

I don't want my students to be sitting at their seats doing worksheets but instead engaging in centers.

COVID has made this tricky because we need to have individual centers. The Teachers pay Teachers gift card will allow me to get centers for my students to complete and I can make more than one copy for each student. The games are durable and can be wiped down after student use. I want to provide my students with engaging learning materials and not let COVID get in the way of them learning through games. This project provides us with many games and books to cover key skills in 2nd grade.

I have also asked for a Logitech Crayon. This allows me to write on any of our student iPads. I love how interactive this pencil makes iPads and allows me to write and help students with their Seesaw activities.
