This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Behavioral Support Specialist that works with a Qualified Mental Health Specialist. Everyday is a rollercoaster for her and I to keep the kiddos that we work with feeling special even during bad days. We strive to let our kiddos know that they have a safe place to talk and be able to release stress and anger also to learn about their feelings. The stories that we hear from some of our children, being able to come into our room and relax and be able to let go of the trials of daily home life that comes with its many changes. Some kids don't receive the huggs and reassurance that there are people that will listen and are able to help work through difficult days. To be able to receive these donations will offer our kiddos incentives for good behavior and help with learning ways to understand mental health and coping skills.
