My Students
My students are the most caring, unique, and energetic students you will meet. All of my students are diagnosed with different disabilities, and many of them are English Language Learners (ELL) as well. Despite this, they are filled with curiosity and are always eager to learn. The students in my class love to engage in fun activities, especially those that are hands-on and involve sharing materials.
Due to the COVID-19, my students' entire world has been turned upside down.
They already exhibit difficulties with understanding and adjusting to change, so adhering to social distancing guidelines may not be something they will be able to follow completely. My students require constant adult support, and will need assistance with maintaining a safe classroom.
My Project
Being a special education teacher and teaching in a Title I school, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch, I am hoping to not only be socially/emotionally available to my students, but also provide them with a safe classroom environment to continue their education during this challenging time. To make this possible, I am requesting Kleenex tissues, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizers, and face shields in order to be prepared for blended learning in the upcoming school year.
With the Kleenex tissues, disinfecting wipes, sanitizers, and face shields, it would make a shared space, germ-free.
The Kleenex tissues and hand sanitizers will reduce the spread of germs and promote good hygiene. The face shields will protect the students from spreading germs, even if they have a difficult time adhering to social distancing. The wipes will help with disinfecting classroom furniture, as well as any shared materials. I would like my students' return to the classroom to be as smooth and safe as possible!
