My Project

I love how 7th and 8th grade students are developing their unique voices and exploring their independence. They ask thoughtful questions, show surprising insights, and navigate the transition from childhood to adolescence with both enthusiasm and vulnerability. They are born readers and writers who have a desire to explore new worlds that transport them beyond their everyday reality.

New books would provide these students with diverse perspectives that reflect their own experiences while introducing them to different viewpoints.

Contemporary, relevant content would connect classroom learning to their real-world interests, engaging reluctant readers and supporting their social-emotional growth during this crucial developmental stage.
