Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are so lucky to have a wonderful and amazing ASD program this 2021-2022 school year. Our class is a class full of unique, bright minds, yet very delicate and profound needs. Our biggest goal is we lack certain items that would benefit all and support my students' growth, both academically and emotionally. We were so very lucky with our Sensory and Creativity project that we had funded thanks to Donors Choose, and it made a world of difference. My new students now would benefit from various ways to support them academically as well as support language and communication growth. We have multiple self-contained classes, so we do all our learning, all together every day. Our classes mean the world to us. Our classes have specific interests in creating, art, reading, and working on basic skills and each student communicates in their unique ways.
My Project
My project will make a difference in our classroom, as we have very different learners that need custom-created and printed tasks and communication cards such as PECS, and other teacher-created resources, created for my students based on their individual needs.
Although this project is not a huge one, having ink will make a huge difference with the scope of ways I can teach my class, and adjust to meet them at their level.
This is imperative when working with very varied and unique learners in one setting.
