My Students
My 15 energetic kindergarten students are ready for a successful school year in person. The best way of doing that is by providing them with different materials and activities that are their own and not shared daily due to COVID guidelines. We do many activities throughout the day and try to reach all the students' different learning styles. "The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you." -B.B. King
My students' learning styles and needs are as diverse as their backgrounds, but they all have the yearning to be successful.
Many families of our school have been in the school district for generations. I myself went to this school as a student and I am now teaching in it.
My Project
Every day we are preparing classroom environments and lesson plans to help students improve social-emotional skills. Right now with this pandemic that we are facing students need opportunities to learn how to work together and express their emotions to get through each day. With the boom box, we can play music which helps to create a calming environment for students to work in. The wobble chair and fidget bands help to provide a stress reless for students that are feeling anxious or just need to move. For social skills the stacking games, hot potato, and finger puppets will provide opportunities for students to learn to work together They will work together to create a tower, follow directions to place cups in order to match the card shown and sing or tell a story together using the Old McDonald finger puppets. So often we concentrate on the academic pieces to learning and forget to include options for social-emotional skills. With these items, our students will have many opportunities to work with their peers and build on their social-emotional skills.
