This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 3 classes of about 25 students each. All of my students come from a low-income neighborhood, but love learning. One of the things that often impedes their learning is a lack of resources. Many of my students are also either considered Special Education or are English Language Learnings which adds to their need for items to make the classroom more of an equitable environment.

We want to provide students with both love and guidance.

That is our class motto. We are looking to spend the year utilizing a positive approach and growth mindset that allows us to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes.

My Project

The items in this cart are necessary tools to help our children learn math visually, as well as, through instruction. The posters chosen provide basic and necessary information to assist our learners (especially those who have special education needs and/or who are English Language Learners.

In addition, sometimes we need to refresh and regroup during the course of learning.

Our "Calm Down Corner" including a class bean-bag chair and sensory items will greatly assist our students who are struggling and just need a moment so they can rejuvenate and continue on task productivity.
