My Students
My junior athletes are a very special group of children. They are the epitome of a melting pot. There are children from five out of the seven continents. Each child brings something special from their culture.
Our team is always striving to do their best.
We work hard but have fun doing it. This project will allow my junior athletes to learn the fundamentals of lacrosse. Once the children understand proper game play and safety we will enter competitions with other teams within the school and neighborhood.
My Project
This year I will be creating an lacrosse intramural league at my school. We will be competing within our school in intrasquad games and local neighborhood schools.
Due to the children's background, the majority of the children have never played, let alone heard of lacrosse.
This team will be a great way for the children to learn how to play the game. After the first two months, the children will have gained the proper skills and knowledge of the rules to compete safely against other teams.
Lacrosse is gaining popularity in the United States. It is the fastest growing NCAA sport. While we talk academically about becoming college and career ready, many times sports are left out. The children on this team will be able to gain a competitive edge over other students when they enter middle and high school.
