In the past few years, I have noticed that students, just like adults, have trouble being able to calm their emotions. Sometimes, they have even a hard time identifying them. This leads to frustration, stress, and unnecessary lack of confidence. In my new calming corner, I would like items to assist them.
Learning is vital, but a child's social emotional learning is the most important!
Students have feelings, and we need to hear and respect them! In this calming space, I would love to have some resources to work out negative emotions, and to point out positive affirmations. Pillows and a rug are also a great way to feel comfortable and safe. All of these items will make our new calming corner a special place for anyone who just needs a place to breathe, think, and feel important.
