This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Eager to learn and share, ready for challenging tasks and kind hearted! These are aspects I see every minute of the day from the 3rd graders in my Dual Language (Spanish/English) classroom. I love seeing them taking risks and being vulnerable in their second language. It’s a privilege to laugh, imagine, create, and problem solve with them while facilitating their learning. It will be wonderful seeing the kiddos using these seats while they create and learn; individually and in groups.
My Project
My students come ready for new challenges daily and need the options of flexible seating to keep them engaged and motivated during learning tasks. I strive to create a welcoming environment where they take ownership of their learning. A simple thing like a wobble seat can help make that happen! Students are given a variety of tasks and learning assignments; it makes since for their space also have a variety of comfortable seating choices! A motto I agree with is, “You are smart and getting smarter.” All students have strengths; academically, socially and emotionally and this generation deserves to know that. They will know and understand that this donation happened because kind people want them to succeed!
