My Project
Calm spaces in schools are important because they provide students with a designated area to de-stress, practice self-regulation, and manage emotions, ultimately promoting a more positive and conducive learning environment.
Students face a range of stressors on a daily basis, from acute trauma and mental health crises to general distress stemming from interpersonal relationships, academic challenges, home contexts, or concern over world events.
Help me to create a new space where students are provided with the tools and resources to have a peaceful day, every day in school. We are hoping to get new seating, sensory tools, cozy environmental items such as lighting, and more!
