My Students
I am a new school counselor serving a group of amazing 6th-8th graders who are compassionate, creative and inquisitive. I am working to create a safe space for my students as well as arm myself with the tools necessary to support them as best as I can.
My goal is to help my students to manage stress and anxiety and learn effective and healthy coping skills if a comfortable and inviting space.
My students would benefit from having these needs met so that they can thrive both academically and emotionally.
My Project
As a counselor new to my school, my resources are limited. First, the requested resources will allow me to provide a comfortable place for my students when they need to talk, vent, or just chill with an adult who cares. Materials will be used for individual counseling sessions in my office when a student is having a bad day, during group lessons on specific topics, and during social-emotional classroom lessons. Toys and fidget items will be used by anxious students who need to take some time to calm down as well as as a conduit for conversation while engaging students with games.
