This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have come from many different parts of the world including Ecuador, Mexico, Guatemala, Nepal, Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and the United States. They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. At our school, 96% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and 92% of the students are students of color. The majority of my students are learning English as a second or third language. They are students with the capacity to achieve greatness.
My Project
My students are active learners and eager to be in school and to excel. They are usually focused on their work, but often they have to leave our classroom to get a drink of water. While I totally encourage my students to drink healthy amounts of water, it would be much less distracting if they could keep a water bottle close by and avoid having to leave the room. I also predict that my students will drink more water if they have access to water inside our classroom than if they have to go to the hallway. Many of my students' families cannot afford to purchase water bottles--I would like to take care of this student need, with your help.
Water is one of the essentials of life, please help me give my students easier access to water and more focus on their classroom activities.
