Help me give my students and their families a place for emotional support, daily necessities (personal hygiene items, clothing, food, and school supplies) and hope to move forward after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many of our students are slowly transitioning back into school after many stressful and traumatic situations (financial/emotional hardships, struggling to learn through distance learning, and loss of loved ones) as an effect of the COVID pandemic.
We want to create a comfortable, inviting, private room for students and families to go to on-campus when in need of basic necessities, a quiet place to talk, or a place for parents to access computers to complete forms or learn how to use current online systems to support their child's schooling.
The Ho'okipa Care Corner will be a place for students to strengthen relationships, build trust with staff, and also select essential supplies that will help them and their family members.
