My Students
My school is filled with bright colors, beautiful gardens, and smiling faces. The students come together as a community to help one another out and bring vibrant life to the school. In music class, they are eager to show off their talents and sing for one another. They are learning how to express themselves creatively.
The students are working to persevere through tough situations.
In music, this means to practice, slow things down, and work as a team to solve the problem at hand. The students have been working together to read music, play recorder, practice rhythms, and sing out in the community. My students have a love for learning new things and achieving new goals.
My Project
I have been having a hard time getting my fourth graders to sing during a virtual lesson, and I understand why. They are in a live meeting with 65 other students and sitting in a house where others are working and someone next to them trying to learn math. So the kazoo is the perfect incentive to continue to sing.
To use a kazoo one must sing, or hum into the instrument.
This will encourage students to try out new songs whether it be during class time or after. The students will be practicing using their voices to maintain the techniques I have taught them throughout the years.
