Help me give my students an opportunity to continue to learn, while at home, due to Covid-19. Students with be provided with activities to complete with these supplies so that their education is not halted.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am the teacher of 30 Head Start students in a public school setting. My students attend a half day program 5 days a week and they love coming to school every day. They come in with smiles and are eager to interact with their teachers and the peers in their classroom. They work hard at being kind, compassionate, and caring as well as sharing with and supporting their classmates.
Our K3 students work hard every day to increase their skills so that they close the learning gap and ensure that they are socially and academically ready for K5 when the times comes.
They work on problem solving with peers, early literacy skills, math skills, and fine motor skills.
My Project
These materials will provide my students with continued learning opportunities while they are at home due to Covid-19. These materials will assist them in continuing to build their literacy, math, and fine motor skills. With the paper, pencil, crayons, and dry-erase boards, they can continue to work on spelling their name, writing letters, making shapes, and writing numbers. With the math blocks, they will practice ordering towers from smallest to largest, sorting by color, and counting items.
Students in my classroom do not have the necessary, hands-on, resources to continue their learning at home during Covid-19.
I want to provide them with the opportunity to continue to grow and develop in their skills so that they are prepared for the next grade in the fall.
