Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a kindergarten ICS (in class support/ SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) class. My students are eager to learn and love school! Some students in my class are classified and receive ESL services. All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. They are from a very low-income area. Each day they enter with different problems and family situations, but they always leave with a smile and heart full of love and can't wait to come back the next day, sometimes they even wish that school was open during the weekend!
My Project
These items will help me organize student cards and information on the magnetic blackboard in a child-friendly area of the room so the students can utilize them as well. I also would like the word puzzles so I can give each student their own individual bag to be kept in their organization box so the items are not contaminated and germs are limited. Each child would be able to build and read their puzzle cards during free time with a buddy across their table ( behind plexiglass) and they could help each other by telling what letter comes next.
