My Students

I teach music to all of the students at my school. We sing and dance all day. It sure is fun. They vary in age, but music is forever.

My students do not know music as​ I do and I want to teach them the ways of music through instruments and sound.

Music is sweet to the ear, pure and peaceful. Students should experience music through play and sound.

My students vary from ages four to ten. They all come from a variety of homes and situations. My students need these materials to successfully accomplish real music comprehension and appreciation. My students are in need of many things, such as love, attention, and classroom materials. It is my goal to see to it that they are taken care of, as well as taught music.

My Project

My music class is focusing on a project that enables the students to strive for justice across the board. The whole school has joined in and my job is to find a way to tie music into it. We will explore jazz ofcourse as well as other musical genres. I am sharing a story with them found in the is project and I am also involving the principal, assistant principal, librarian, art teacher and coach. They will all stand for different struggles the world is seeing now such as racism, political nonsense and more injustice. We will be outside during a pretend rally so the masks requested in this project reflect the librarians side, coaches side, principals side, art teacher side and music side. The students all get a colorful mask. Each color represents one of the leads (Coach, principal, music, art etc.) If students have a yellow mask they work on the principals theme, which is racism. They will make posters (with the markers and poster boards in this project) that illustrate the fight against racisms. The students who get the blue mask are directed to art's theme which is the political problems we face. Those students will also create posters and rally for justice. The pink masks will follow the lead of the librarian and her theme is the black lives matter fight. They will have the black lives matter banner and also create posters etc.

I am excited about this project displaying the civic needs of our country and also becoming a live visual arts for the students to experience.

They will get to express feelings and strive for success in all things. I cannot wait to see this come to life.
