My Project

Summer can be difficult for my scholars. Many rely on the breakfast and lunch that are provided daily, as well as the on-site food pantry. During our summer break, these cans of food and hygiene products, as well as books and basic learning tools, will make an impact on my students.

We have spent time this year talking about self-affirmations, and I would like to continue this into the summer with the keychains.

I believe that it is important to continue the discussion of racial justice and representation at home with their families, where self-affirmations are the beginning steps. In order for this to take place, my students will need not only the academic tools but also nourishment and other means to be comfortable while learning.
