Just What I Need to Become a Rockstar Reader!

Help me give my students an opportunity to progress from Tier II & III below grade level reading abilities through small group interventions with fluency cards, comprehension games, and language sorting through explicit lessons at their level.

My Project

Some students just aren't able to close their reading gaps without targeted interventions and small groups. I have several students who are a few years below grade level and need additional supports to make more progress. I plan to use the items I've requested to work with them in small groups in a fun and engaging way. I am excited at this opportunity and would like to get started with them right away!

The reading comprehension games will be used as centers for some students, while other students are receiving explicit small group reading instruction.

The match and sort language quickies are a fun way to both introduce and review literary devices, informational text, grammar, and vocabulary. Building fluency is critical for students because it helps boost their confidence and also increases their comprehension, which greatly contributes to their ability to progress. Word roots and ladders support their need for learning word analysis strategies, which helps in both reading and writing. The fluency cards and the roots materials will be used as part of small group lessons. I would appreciate the support of Donor's Choose to help me to obtain these classroom materials for my students who just need a little extra support in order to become ROCKSTAR READERS!
