This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Sometimes we forget the importance and significance of “the little things.” This project includes basic needs and essentials that make a classroom more neat, safe, and conducive to learning and will allow me to prepare for next year.
This year would have been easier and ran more smoothly if I had had some basics on hand to meet my students’ and classroom’s needs.
One of my challenges this year was with organization and moving classrooms with little storage space. Since I also help with school wide activities, it is important for me to have bins to organize and separate materials so that they will be easily accessible. There were also many class interruptions when students asked to go wash their hands or get paper towels from the restroom or go to the nurse for minor issues. We have study sessions in my classroom with food and snacks so the soap and paper towels are essential. Because my classroom has sinks, the band aids, soap, and paper towels will help with the number of students needing to leave class. The notebook is for students who may need one and the paper is to create stickers with the school logo or mascot. Thank you for your consideration.
